How does Emsella work?

It uses high-intensity electromagnetic field waves. These waves to activate motor neurons in the pelvic floor and is delivered by comfortably sitting on an ergonomic chair fully clothed. It penetrates the tissue of the pelvic floor, building up support for the pelvic organs

After just a few sessions over 67% of patients who received the BTL Emsella treatment decreased the use of hygienic pads for incontinence or eliminated them completely, while 95% reported a significant improvement in their quality of life!

What is incontinence?

Urinary incontinence is defined as the involuntary leakage of urine. There are three different types of urinary incontinence:

Stress incontinence is when there is exerted pressure on the bladder causing leakage. This can be caused by coughing, laughing, sneezing, or exercising

Urge incontinence is the sudden, intense urge to urinate frequently

Mixed incontinence is a combination of both stress and urge incontinence.

What causes urinary incontinence?

This might be a result of weak pelvic floor muscles since pelvic floor muscles play an important role in supporting pelvic organs and controlling continence. Physiological changes can contribute to the development of urinary incontinence; changes such as vaginal delivery, menopause, and aging can decondition pelvic floor muscles.

How can I treat my incontinence?

Emsella is a great option for men and women of any age who desire a solution for urinary incontinence and improvement in their quality of life. Studies confirm 95% of patients report an improved quality of life.

What about kegel exercises?

Kegel exercises are intended to strengthen pelvic floor muscles. However, many who suffer from urinary incontinence are unable to properly perform kegel exercises. Mainly, because the muscles around the pelvic floor are too weak or atrophied. So in many cases, kegel exercises are not even effective to reduce or eliminate “accidents”. On the other hand, the BTL Emsella can do the work for you and effectively at a rate of over 11,000 kegels in 28 minutes without effort from your part.

How long does a treatment last?

Your provider will tailor a treatment plan for you. A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes and you will need about 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week.

What does a treatment feel like?

You’ll come into our office, sit – fully clothed – on the ergonomic chair, and just relax as the device does all the work for you! You can read a book or magazine to pass the time.

You will experience tingling and pelvic floor muscle contractions during the procedure. You may resume daily activities immediately after the treatment.

How fast will I see results?

You may observe improvement after a single session. The results will typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.
